m-city

between 27th and 30th of June with great effort the m-city appeared covering the area of 240 square meters of wall. As far as we know it's the biggest piece made with stencils on Earth There are a lot of changes comparing to the wall made a year ago on saj 1. We can see great constructors adding buildings and factories, an airplane ducking over the city.
M-city grows every moment, so as we.

The first man on the Mars - adam-x - has landed view minutes after 8 p.m. some fireworks celebrated this event. We are proud of him.

both of the events were part of the festiwal sztuka ulicy event. The last but not least part of street art jam - the jam itself - will be realized on the 1st of September, so prepare yourself!

hegemons form tricity

this Saturday in CDQ the results of W4g has been announced. The point was to illustrate words "dream theatre" and the best were boys from USH crew from Gdansk. That's the second time they take the first palce. We hope they will also win the final in Chemnitz.
Second was Miami Vice crew and the third was TG crew

the wall is covered

the last Thursday in CDQ a small pasting took a place. We stack some pieces from our archives. We also brought the beautiful fridge. that's only the first part of discovering this new place oppened for streetart.

nothing new, meooow

it is not a cause to run away from warsaw, it is a cultural event. Cows appeared in 60 paces putting a bit of humor and optimistic atmosphere into the streets and letting anyone to bite some art.

The cows can show us that on polish streets is a place not only for the martyrology memorials, which we put very often because Poles love to be blue, vodka tastes better then.

Vlep[v]net done one of the cows too, but as far we didn't have time to have a look on it. We only know it lies on the Na Rozdrozu Place.

vlep[v]net, mase, jakopcy i emiter in mózg

march the 3rd the independent exhibition organized by stumilowy las association has started in mózg. vlep[v]net showed not only own works, but also a lot of pieces from our great archives and from vlep[v]śnieg workshop.
the pieces covered the entrance hall and ball-room. you could see also photo documentation of streets. flix were chosen carefully, so even people without any idea what is street art were able to find out how to bite that stuff.
a huge crowd came for the opening. you could see such celebrities as mr. trumpet, sunny and mother. we were impressed by the number of people who came not only to see our fantastic street art ;) but also impressive graphics made by mase and installations of jakobcy. also we could hear music by emiter.

the streets of bydgoszcz (actually two of them: gdańska and dworcowa) were quite nice. some stickers areas, mostly in "word-clipart" technique, but smart. beside a lot of stencils on a very high level. we hope that after the exhibition the number of pieces on the streets will rise.

ps: surveys shows that a group of stickin' people sticks about 200 stickers a day. on wednesday we will see the "birkut of polish street art" he will sick 500% of day rate of sticking alone! hope he will manage!!!!!

in warsaw

the conference about rules of cow parade in warsaw will take place on 28th of february. you could see the cows in many cities in europe (last year in prague).
vlep[v]net hunts for one for the participants of saj.v.2

in poland the event is being organized under the auspices of sensoers.pl:
"we buy cows for the artists to paint them as they like- free to decide it is allowed not only to paint it, but also cut or slice in any way. the cows will stand in different places in warsaw" says iza sawicka from sensor. the authors of the works can count for some financial help.

last year dosdedos magazine showed us some street art presented very well by tuse
we didn't have to encourage him to start showing things you are sending to us. that's why polish galleries has started to appear in the magazine.

After the announcement of the results of the second edition of the contest "leave the walls and look on the sky" the number one artwork of Małgorzata Medowska called My Town has finally appeared on a billboards.
Medowska, unlike AMS company, use much harder words. The winning artwork was allowed to appear only just after some changes in the text.
The manipulation in art is getting more and more popular in Poland

Café Europa Lodz-Berlin, February-April 2005 international project for citizens of Lodz and Berlin
part I Lodz

In the first part of this multipart slide-project Wschodnia Gallery from Lodz and Sibylle Hofter from Berlin, invites 17 artists to cover glass-fassade of the Europa-building and later the fassade of empty shops in Berlin with a sequence of synchronised images.

The projection from inside towards outside can't avoid being communication with the passants, like tramway riders, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers.
Self-glowing pictures as mirror, as illusion, as dislocation, as utopia, as time shift, analytical, private, political....

The second phase of the project is entitled EUROPE CITIZEN and it will start in the beginning of part I.
Through lokal media we motivate citizens of Lodz and Berlin to submit private photographs, according to different premisses:
The view out of my window. The most beloved corner of my home. Animals of the house. Room mates. Most frequently used vehicle. Place of work. etc.

LODZ-CITIZEN will be transfered to the different format in Berlin. And added by the BERLIN-CITIZEN.

The event takes place in the underground passage under Wisłostrada, near the pond and the street art wall. The point is to show the process of appearing the color form hiding.

At night 25/26 th of January the Radical Creative Action (Radykalna Akcja Twórcza - RAT) placed in the public space 13 new pieces on a billboards in Treble City

Putin - the butcher of Kaukaz - is coming to Poland, to the death camp in Oświęcim to profane by his person the 1,5 million people killed by Hitler. Putin - the co-originator of the refugee camps - places where Chechen people are being slaved, torturized and killed, 10 years of war, 100 thousand killed, 150 thousand refugees and thousands wounded.

Wrocław, 3-5th of December 2004

I have to admit, that after listening the lecture I wasn't quite sure what to think about it. I had been waiting for the discussion about the straight connection between an architecture and streetart. Is there a possibility to respect each other and work together? There was hardly anything about it. Most of the lectures about architecutre were interesting, but in my opinion the architects knew nothing about streetart and artists didn't talk about an architecture at all. It was clearly visible in Dr Barbara Stec lecture. For her the best example of 'artstreet' is just an armchair on the street.

I have to single out Roman Rutkowski. He as the only one faced the problem of merging architecture and contemporary art. Although in his designes was a place only for the well known artists, I really liked the idea of putting art into the structure of the city.

The lecture of Jakub Banasiak (with a little help from Patryk Poślednik) started with the sentence that graffiti had died. I can't agree with the arguments of the author. Also I couldn't see the connection between that begining and the rest of the lecture. However I have to admit, that the profiles of the artists (Banksy, Space Invader, Influenza) were showed absorbingly. The people not from the streetart world were able to see what it is all about.

In my opinion we have to talk about the relationship between architecture and streetart. This time there was no conclusion of this problem, but who knows, maybe next year the lectorers will be prepared enough to start the discussion?
